Overview: This is a very informational book about the Matschie's tree kangaroo and their home in the trees of Papua New Guinea's Cloud Forest. In order to reach the tree kangaroos a group of international and local explorers venture to their habitat in hopes of finding, capturing, studying, and then releasing back into the wild as many tree kangaroos as possible. This book is composed of many photographs that show the different species, tree kangaroos themselves, and the amazing scenery and habitats they discover along the way.
Activity: An activity that would work well for this book would be an activity during a science and nature lesson, specifically regarding to New Guinea, tree kangaroos, or the surrounding environment. The teacher could first read this book to the students, and then each student could pick an aspect of science, nature, or a species in the book and write a small report about what they chose to study and further research.
