People in Fall

Title: People in Fall
Author: Martha E. H. Rustad

Illustrator: Capstone Press

Publisher: Capstone Press

Publication Date: 2008

Genre: Picture Book, Science and Nature

Audience: Gr. PreK-2

Overview: This book is about the season of Fall and what happens during this season whether it be with the weather, nature, or the people themselves. For example, this picture book talks about how the days are shorter and weather colder, and what holidays are celebrated during this time. This book includes great photographs that illustrate the season.

Activity: I would love to use this book as an introduction to a lesson about the seasons. One possible idea would be to first read this book aloud to the students. Next, as a class we could talk about winter, spring, summer, and fall, and how the seasons change from one to the next. After, students could each draw and color a picture that illustrates their favorite season and what they like to do during that season.
