Genre: Picture Book
Audience: PreK-Grade 2
Overview: This book is about an armadillo named Bo that easily gets distracted. He sees red cowboy boots that Harmony Jean is wearing and thinks that one of the boots is another armadillo. Bo follows the boots through different adventures, for example riding a horse, square dancing, and at the campfire before realizing that the cowboy boots were not an armadillo. While Bo is on his adventure his mom and three brothers are searching for him and looking for him everywhere.
Activity: After reading the book, a fun activity to do with the students is to have the students research more information about armadillos, where they are from, and what their habitat is like. This activity could also be used to tie social studies, by researching Texas and the culture of Texas.
